The government is undertaking research to understand the UK’s artificial intelligence sector and how it is growing. The research informs government policy on artificial intelligence.
Ipsos has been commissioned to carry out the survey fieldwork, which will take place both online and by telephone between late October and December 2022. The survey only takes around 15 minutes.
Taking part is voluntary and fully confidential for all individuals and organisations. The survey is not trying to sell you anything.
Take part in online survey.
Our research partners have compiled a list of businesses in the UK artificial intelligence sector using publicly available contact details. Within these organisations, Ipsos would like to speak to someone with an overview of your business’ products or services, and your artificial intelligence business growth plans. This might be your CEO, CTO, a company director, or a senior member within an AI or data science team.
You can download Ipsos’ privacy notice for the survey. This document explains the purposes for processing your personal data, as well as your rights under data protection regulations.
Participation will either be online, or via a telephone interview. During the fieldwork period some artificial intelligence businesses will be called by an interviewer from Ipsos’ Edinburgh office (an 0131 number) inviting them to take part. They may also receive an email to let them know Ipsos has called, and inviting them to reply or complete the survey online.
On average, telephone interviews last around 15 minutes, though the actual interview length may vary depending on the answers that respondents give. The interview will take place at a time that is convenient for each respondent.
If someone in your organisation requested it, you may also have received an email to let you know Ipsos has called and inviting you to reply.
To help select the right person in your organisation to participate, and prepare for the interview, Ipsos has created a pre-interview question help sheet.
Download the question help sheet from Ipsos.
If you have any questions about the survey you can email Ipsos at DCMSAIsector@ipsosresearch.com
Don’t include personal or financial information like your National Insurance number or credit card details.
To help us improve GOV.UK, we’d like to know more about your visit today. We’ll send you a link to a feedback form. It will take only 2 minutes to fill in. Don’t worry we won’t send you spam or share your email address with anyone.
